Civil Labourer – Road Construction & Maintenance

Are you an experienced plant operator or a hardworking civil labourer looking for your next challenge? Randstad is currently seeking expressions of interest for civil labourer roles within local councils across the Southern area.

This is an excellent opportunity for those with a background in roadworks and heavy machinery to secure stable work in a team-oriented environment. We are looking for dedicated individuals who take pride in building and maintaining community infrastructure, with a proactive approach to safety and the ability to operate plant equipment with precision.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day will be varied, covering road maintenance and rural projects. Tasks include:

• Plant & Truck Operation: Operating excavators, graders, skid steers, backhoes, and rollers.

• Road Maintenance: Handling construction tasks, including potholing and manual shoveling.

• Vegetation Management: Rural tree trimming using chainsaws and pole saws.

• Site Support: Slings/shifting cement pipes (acting as a spotter for the Rigger) and operating an EWP (under 11m) if licensed.

• Traffic Management: Setting up signage and managing work zones to keep the team and public safe.

Licences and Qualifications Highly Desired:

• Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence: Mandatory.

• White Card: General construction induction.
